Large-scale Wi-Fi mesh networks are coming your way. Although there is no guarantee you will actually be able to use it yourself, these networks are available for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications including municipal networks, public safety, enterprise, manufacturing, industrial plants, video surveillance, hospitals, hotels, corporate business parks, entertainment parks and more. Mission critical Wireless Mesh Networks are enabling public safety and other state, local and federal government agencies witht he ability to access timely and critical information using broadband WiFi networks that cover entire municipalities. Today, these networks are used by police, fire and emergency services agencies for wireless video surveillance and complex GIS applications and more. In some cases, but not all, municipalities are enabling public Internet access. While video surveillance and public internet access is interesting, new cellular/WiFi dual mode phones as well as distributed and shared applications will drive the adoption of these networks. Even better, the highest performance WiFi mesh capabilities are available on high-speed commuter rail lines. Strix Systems delivers the highest throughput, lowest latency WiFi Mesh products to enable voice, video and data applications - even at high speeds.
